Linden Point House

"Ocean air–worn hammocks overlook breathtaking views of the Thimble Islands at the Linden Point House. There's lots to do here—biking, beaching—but chances are you'll be content to while away your days reading, napping, and watching the sailboats cruise by."

Linden Point House

Linden Point House was a hotel at the turn of the century and then a private home for decades. Today your hosts are a painter and a photographer, Hannah & Joel Baldwin.

This special point, with gazebo, hammocks, jetties all around and beautiful old trees, allows for total relaxation. Continental breakfast is served on trays that can be taken to the living-room and large fireplace in winter or to the patio or gazebo in summer, where you can watch kayakers and sailboats going by.

A ten-minute walk into the historic village of Stony Creek, brings you to shops, restaurants and the town beach. You might want to get lunch to go and picnic on the property. Complimentary tea and wine will be served early evening, just in time for spectacular sunsets. At night, the subtly lit trees and gently lapping water create a magical ambiance.

There is fine local dining in Branford, Guilford and Madison... or you may opt to go into New Haven for shows at Long Wharf, the Schubert or Yale Rep. There you will find great restaurants, wine bars and clubs. Also, there are museums and sometimes concerts on the green.
